Cody Hanas is awesome and STRONG

CODY HANAS IS MY REAL HERO!

The Return

  • The return for Jesse really didn't happen till after he passed away when the Jesse Owens Foundations was formed.

  • Also Jesse's return was that he lead the way for many other African American athletes and help fight the racism in sports.

The Atonement

  • Jesse atonement was when he became "ambassador of sports" for the U.S.

  • While ambassador of sports Jesse focused on poor neighborhoods and tried to help young athletes find away out of poverty and around racism.

  • After retiring Jesse recieved many awards for his work like Medal of Freedom, and the Living Legends award.

The Transformation

  • Jesse transformation began when he stopped running.

  • Jesse found a job in sports promotion/pubic relations and used this to reach out to other African Americans and help them improve their lives.

The Abyss

  • The abyss came when Jesse was at the Olympics and after he came back to the U.S.

  • Segregation became even more visible to him after he came back from the Olympics in Germany.

  • Jesse was never paid for running so he had finacial problems after the Olympics.

The Initiation

  • Jesse started facing more problems right out of High School one was deciding to run college or not.

  • Jesse was already married and needed to support his family, so he turned down a bunch of scholar ship offers.

  • Jesse's coached finally convinced him to run college after getting his dad a full time job at Ohio State University, where Jesse would be running.

  • Jesse also began to face segregation and prejudice in and outside the school. He wasn't even allowed to stay on campus because he was black.

  • Physical injury was also something Jesse had to overcome before one meet he had a bad injury that he was treated before half an hour prior to his race and still did great in his events.

The Desent

  • Family still faced finacial problems while in Clevland.

  • Jesse was forced to work to after school to help support his family throught the hard time.

  • Working after school didn't allow Jesse to practice with the track team after school. Instead of quiting the coach allowed him to practice before school by himself.
